Mother’s comment

“Calm, balanced, smiling and very gentle in its simple austerity”.

Here The Mother used “Bliss” and “Ananda”. What is “Ananda”, what is “Bliss”?

“Ananda is the very essence of the Brahman, it is the supreme nature of the omnipresent reality” [Sri Aurobindo, SABCL, 19: 990]

“When the Ananda comes into you, it is the Divine who comes into you” [Sri Aurobindo, SABCL, 22:173]

“Ananda is the essential nature of bliss of the cosmic consciousness, and in activity, its delight of self creation and self experience.” [Sri Aurobindo SABCL 15: 93]

Therefore, Ananda is the “essence, supreme”. Bliss is “of the cosmic consciousness”.

Work on the Garden of Bliss began in 2012.

This garden is undergoing its second incarnation.

The work to rebuild the central section of this garden started in 2021

In the new design there are five fountains in the form of bowls of different size and height. Each bowl is clad with marble tiles, lined with gold tiles, in the manner of the gold discs on the Matrimandir, and rimmed with serrated brass lips  When they are filled, the  water overflows in droplets which form a curtain-like cascade which catches and refracts the sunlight.

The area will be completed with a granite bench facing Matrimandir
